Honduras 2025

Brigade dates: May 4 - May 10

Here is what you need to know in order to attend the Honduras Brigade. As the time for the brigade approaches and we obtain new information from our advisors, we will be uploading more important documents. As for now, please make sure to check all of the information on this page!

Getting Started

  • Signing up

The first step is signing up for the brigade through empowered. Clicking that hyperlink will lead you to a page which gives you step by step instructions on how to set up the account. Once your account is made, ensure you signed up for the Honduras brigade specifically. Also ensure you sign all of the waivers and consent forms as well. If you already have an empowered account please just click the button below, and then click “volunteer”. Please keep in mind you will be using this site to fundraise certain amounts by set deadlines (reference “Important Deadlines” under this section for more details). Even if you fundraise or obtain money from other means it must be transferred and paid into your empowered account.

  • Passports

Since we are traveling internationally you must have a passport. Furthermore, the passport must not expire after 6 months from the departure of Honduras (Must not expire before 11/10/2024). We do not make the rules regarding this so there are absolutely no exceptions whatsoever. Please do not procrastinate on renewing your passport it can take up to 6 months to process. “The Spot” on campus can process the renewal of your passport without appointment, though it may be more expensive than if you book an appointment with a different facility. Even if your passport may be valid for the duration of the trip if it is set to expire before 11/10/2024 you must renew it!

  • Vaccines

Covid Vaccines ae not required but highly recommended from both Global Medical Brigades and us as a chapter. There are no specialized vaccines required of you if you are apart of the group booking. There are some specific yellow fever vaccines if you are traveling to yellow fever countries after/before the brigade, but if you are apart of the group flight booking this will not pertain to you.

IMPORTANT DEADLINES

IMPORTANT DEADLINES

  • Initial Donation Deadline: December 30th, 2024

    • Each member should have $150 in their empowered account to reserve their spot on the trip (this will be included in your donation goal)

Brigade Itinerary

The diagram shown to the right is a general display of what the medical clinic will look like. We are anticipating 26+ members (meaning we will have the stations in yellow) and we will try to ensure everyone has a different station during each shift, but please keep in mind we may not be able to make that happen. Each day will be split into two shifts. We encourage you to take notes and actively engage in each of the stations in order to best serve the community and make the most out of the experience.

The itinerary plan shown to the left is a tentative schedule of what we will be completing during this brigade. This schedule is dependent on the number of volunteers attending the brigade. It may also change depending on if our chapter decides to do an “add-on”.
